The TV Segment with Chris Feehan (TK-6744) and David Braun (TD-6513) is airing this week on FiOS 1 - My Long Island. It will premier on Tuesday October 12th at 10:30am, 1:30pm, 5:30pm on channel 1 on FiOS TV on Long Island. David and I were very proud to represent the Empire City Garrison and 501st Legion, and they actually managed to use some of the best things we had to say about the group. My only complaint was they used my personal website as the contact at the end, even though I provided them the correct ones to use. My site has links to the ECG and 501st on the main page, so if anyone does look it up they will still find the main sites.

NY ComicCon 2010
Just finished NY Comic Con with the 501st Legion and Rebel Legion and had a great time. Did Emperor Palpatine for the first time as well as my Luke outfit. I had been putting together an Emperor for about a year and finally found a fantastic Silicone DragonSkin appliance that looked sick. My Garrison (the ECG) and the crowd at NY Comic Con thought it was incredible, and I agree. Later on I switched to my Luke and took some shots with Christina, who had a perfect matching Slave Leia costume.....

My Stormtrooper Car
Just completed Stormtrooperfying my car with some Vinyl decal material. Created the design myself to emulate a Stormtrooper helmet. Took me about a week to cut it, and a few hours to apply. I have wanted to do this since I got this car two years ago, and I finally decided to go for it. I tried to use all the major elements of the helmet and make them fit the shape of the car.
I have been a member (TK-6744) of the 501st Legion / Empire City Garrison for just over two years. Around the same time I joined, I bought the white Dodge Stratus, and I have wanted to Stormtrooperfy it since I bought it. I looked into custom painting it, getting it skinned, but all the options I looked into cost more then the actual car. After getting some vinyl 501st stickers for the back, I started thinking about using that sort of material to do it. I bought some vinyl self stick sheets, used for detailing cars, a product called RapidTac, and a squeegee. I designed and cut some shapes myself to resemble the decals on a Stormtrooper helmet to fit my car. I used a wet application using the Rapidtac, which lets you easily position the decals, and eliminate bubbles and creased using a squeegee. The materials and tools only cost around $50, and with some precision measuring, cutting, and applying, I now have the Stormtrooperfyed car I had wanted.
Here are some before and after shots of my new Stormtrooper Car, any comments or feedback would be appreciated.

Sci-Fi Science Taping and Dr. Michio Kaku Award Presentation
The Empire City Garrison attended another taping of the Science Channel Series, Sci-Fi Science : Physics of the Impossible with Michio Kaku on July 16th, 2010. This was for the 9th and 10th episodes of Season 2, and featured "How to Build a Cyborg" and "How to Defeat a Robot Army". The 501st Legion / Empire City Garrison Presented Dr. Michio Kaku his Honorary Friend Award. Chris Feehan (TK-6744) - ECG Long Island Event Coordinator and Charity Representative made the presentation, and he has attended every taping so far for the second season. The 501st wanted to recognize Dr. Kaku for his work, exploring how Sci-Fi concepts like Light Sabers, the Death Star, and X-Wing fighters may someday be possible. There was a large turn out with around 50 Sci-Fi fans, with a few in costume. They had us stand outside the building and then tape the show and do the Q&A from about 2-6PM. The Second Season is expected to start airing in November or December of this year. There will be one more taping this year on August 6th.
